The music they offer can be ideal for my group as the tempo of the song ain't too fast which will allow us to be able to lip-sync easily. However, the songs are not that good which may hamper the quality of our promo video as the audience may become bored or loose interest in the song, thus loosing interest in the video.
My group are still considering and are in discussion about this band.

Unsigned.com - Deals with Copy Right Issue

Unsigned.com is a website that has a huge database of unsigned artists that are waiting to be 'discovered'. This type of site will allow me to find music for my promo video, which will not arises any copyright/ownership issues as it will be easier to contact the artists.

Finding the right Music

At the moment i am looking on websites like unsigned.com to find music because they provide non-copyright music which we can create a music 'promo' to. If we were to use established artists who copyright there music, we must apply for permission to use their music and to create a video for. This will most likely result in rejection, leaving us with no music to use. They may reject as from the established artists view, it may result in damaging their career or a loss in revenue. Whereas using unsigned artists music, it will provide them with publicity and interest, which may kick start their career.

Research: My Favourite Music Video - Bruno Mars, The Lazy Song

The Lazy Song by Bruno Mars i believe is a good music video due to several reasons.
Bruno Mars is a R&B artists and has previous chart singles which includes Grenade and Just The Way You Are. He is very popular amongst the R&B industry.
The choreography in this video is very clever. It is conducted in such a way you know what the song is about , without having to have to music playing. It complies with the key conventions of a music video, i.e lip syncing and the appearance of a musical instrument, the guitar.
What i also like about this video is that Bruno Mars is always looking at the camera, making it appear as if he is directly talking to us and the effect of this is that it actually makes us not want to do anything, which is what the song is regarding. With the use of very laid back acting and 'dance moves', it creates a ery calm, slow atmosphere thus effectively conveying the mood of the song.

HELLO ! My name is Jake Williams and i am a student at Robert Clack School.

Welcome to my A2 media blog. This year my task is to create a music video using non-copyright music.
My task consists of making a music 'promo' video which lasts for around 5 minutes. In addition to this i must also create a 'digipak' a.k.a a album cover for the CD release. This must be accompanied with a magazine advertisement for the digipak.
